Hey, Eve, What’s Up?

Years ago, God gave me a revelation that BEFORE God created Eve, He told Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She hadn’t even been created yet so most likely Adam told her what God said.

So what you may ask? Well, secondhand information is not a revelation. A revelation or a Rhema revelation brings spiritual understanding, and true heart change resulting in obedience. At least that’s the way it is in my life.

Yes, Eve was not innocent. Her husband gave her an order from God, and she went against it and did what she wanted to do. That was sin and is what got us girls in trouble. But let’s be honest here. If she indeed had an intimate conversation with God concerning eating of the tree, she may not have disobeyed the Lord.

Eph. 5:22 You wives must submit to your husbands’ leadership in the same way you submit to the Lord.

You see, in my life instruction that comes from intimacy with God, a one-on-one relationship, not instruction from someone else, changes my heart and changes my actions because I have a true Word from the word that is directed at me. Oh yes, it makes it so much easier to obey. If only she had heard from God’s lips. We would all have a different situation possibly. I wonder…

None of what I just said negates women from responsibly submitting to their husbands or for that matter negates Christians from submitting to one another in love, does it? That is in the Word of God in 1 Tim.

Heb. 4:12 KJV For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As for our personal revelation, when we read the scripture, the Words of God get down in us like a knife cutting to the bone and to the marrow, changing us! God’s word, His two-edged sword helps cut out our stony hearts and gives us a heart to follow Him. Truly, no one else can change my heart and lead me to obedience than intimacy with my Creator and Lord.

In conclusion, Ladies, (and Gentleman) pick up your sword and be changed! Then obey and please stop picking on Eve!

Eph. 5:21 Honor Christ by submitting to each other.

Affectionately,

Rev Irene
